Having seen this car many times in the flesh, I can confidently tell you all that no photo of this car does it justice - it is simply stunning, and Si has looked after it very well. Best of luck with the sale Si, not that you’ll need it at that price - a steal if you ask me! David

    starter motor squeely sound

I removed my starter from my 3.0si while the manifold was out for other reasons. However, others have had success removing it with the manifold in situ. Definitely a squeeze but doable, so I’m told. This makes it sound a lot easier than it actually is: - Disconnect battery - Disconnect the...

    starter motor squeely sound

Yep, I used the same video to help me out. My starter motor was a Denso BMW one. Took it apart, degreased in and re-greased it and all is fine now  I used GUNK degreaser, some electrical connector cleaner (for the circuit) and then some Lith-Moly grease - all from Halfords. You’ll...

    Z4 3.0si N52 (facelift) hissing / performance issues

I’m happy to inform that both the hissing and performance issues have gone as a result of removing the mani and replacing the Secondary DISA and CVV. As you can see from the pictures I posted a few replies up, the hissing was most likely caused by the disintegrated DISA seal. Case closed...

SOLVED: Warning lights - please help!

SOLVED!!! This morning, before I attempted jacking the car up, I tried going in blind and reaching my hand under the starter motor from above the engine. I felt around a bit (hello sailor!) and found what I thought must’ve been the crankshaft sensor connector. Gave it the lightest of pulls and...

SOLVED: Warning lights - please help!

I think you’re right, and it’s most likely the crankshaft sensor, and its connector has been dislodged. I am 99.9% certain that everything I had to unplug was reconnected correctly. I think the crankshaft sensor connector being dislodged is causing the engine not to fire up initially, then the...
