    Oil filter wrech

Thanks for the specific advice. As far as "stabbing it".........well that would probably result in a needed $500 repair bill as this is a cartridge filter and not a spin on :D

    Oil filter wrech

Okay, now I'M confused. Most of the ads list sizes such as 76 mm and such. I don't need the size socket that would drive the wrench I need the opening size to that fits over the filter cap. And I notice that the ads state the number of flutes. So, for a dummy, exactly what do I need? Mark

    Oil filter wrech

Does anyone know the size or a good source for the wrench to remove the oil filter cap on a 2007 E86 ? Guess I could use the plier style oil filter wrench, but that might chew things up a little. Thanks, Mark

    Oil service prices

Regarding a car lift. About 8 yrs. ago I paid $2,100 for the lift and $200 for a guy to install it. A friend of mine told me I was crazy to spend that much money on a hobby. I had to remind him that the boat he bought a few years back had already depreciated by about $25,000. So much for that...

    Oil service prices

I'm older than most people on this site, and thus, have probably owned more cars than most. I have a car lift in my garage and like to do as much maintenance and repair work as I can. I have sold and traded many cars...often simple sports cars and some pretty fancy Mercedes. I keep personal...

    centre console

The seller's website shows the same armrest being used for different cars.....an Opel for example. i imagine the mounting hardware must be different for each application. I sure would like to see a picture of one installed in a Z and also the installation instructions.

    Spare tire

Excuse my ignorance. What is an e46 3 series? Is that the small sedan? I would definitely want a 17". Are the bolt patterns on most BMW's the same?

    Spare tire

Still trying to locate a used 17" spare donut wheel and tire. Found a source in Calif., but it's $50 to ship (the wheel and tire is $75). The problem seems to be that the salvage yards have no way to cross the info since the Z4's didn't have a spare originally. Does anyone know what BMW might...

    "Flat" Tire :-(

Following the discussion on patching a tire with an expanding plug. A few postings listed a source for the plugs. Can't get either of the sites to open. Does anyone have current information on the mushroom plugs?

Low tire pressure/flat tire dashboard indicator

Well, still not sure if I have a problem. The light definitely is not RED and there is no loud warning beep............thankfully, if the beep causes the problem that you mention. LOL

Low tire pressure/flat tire dashboard indicator

The low tire pressure symbol has been glowing amber (the same color as the other things on the dash). The manual states for a flat tire the symbol will light up red and a sound will be heard. For a low tire pressure the symbol will light up yellow and a sound will signal. My question is since I...

Instrument Cluster - Amber to White

I'd like the display brighter in the daytime. I had a Mercedes that would automatically increase the lighting if daylight got brighter. Result was I could see the readouts at all times. I'll admit that my eyesight is aged, but sure would be nice to see readouts in bright sunlight.
