Hard To Find Parts Reproduction Ideas

Right, Z3/Z4 owners, a genuine question!

What's the one part you've been hunting for on your car that you just can't get anymore?

Doesn't matter how small or daft it sounds.

We've partnered with OctoClassic, who want to work with Zed Owners Club, to get first hand insights into the community on what parts are hard to find or just not available from BMW anymore. They specialise in this area and scan and reproduce those lucrative parts.

Drop a comment: model + year, what the part is, and a pic if you've got one, as much info as possible

If enough people are after the same thing (and someone's got an original we can use for scanning), there's a decent chance it gets reproduced.

The plastics for behind my seats (at the top of the rear of the car interior) are crumbling day by day. It's visible through the rear window. 3d print it and you'll have a ready market.

Oh hey I've been looking at their site before.

Random Wishlist based on what I've been thinking about finding/fitting… Supersprint headers, Milltek exhaust, Aero bumpers/side skirts, BDS intake or 3.0si adapter for the Eventuri intake (possibly not many made).

More seriously affordable options for interior trim pieces, although I've not checked dealership prices to know if they're NLA or not. Various caps/screw covers, cup holders, glovebox hinges/door, vents behind the seats, facelift rear light surround piece, possibly front bumper clips if they're still £100+ for a not-that-complex piece of plastic.

Hand brake assemblies are the obvious one - no new ones have been available for years now and its the one rare part that'll keep your car off the road.

They are also easy enough to grind new teeth into with a file - they're very soft metal (probably why they wear so much), but I spent a few minutes on mine with a file, and made the teeth much more prominent.
