Hi all. I've heard there are some clued up people on here. I'm hoping one of you maybe able to get me out of the dog house with the mrs and her E89 saga.

I did something a bit daft. She had water in the boot which corroded the roof pump motor, stopping the roof from working. As there was also corrosion on the power distribution board, i removed it and brought a new one. In the meantime, I shut the boot. I cant do the under bonnet jump lead trick to open it now as nothing is connected. I've heard there's a way to directly energise the boot latch. Any ideas are welcome.

You can open the boot with what’s called the 12 pin trick. Plenty of how to guides on here or YouTube.

BTW, assuming I can get it open, has anyone had any luck with taking the pump motor apart and cleaning it up as a fix?
