There have been a couple of Alpina Roadsters changing hands recently, so what will this one on Collecting Cars finally reach with only 7,512 miles on the clock?.
Its currently at £18,750 with 3 days left to bid (and remmber that the buyer has a buyers fee of 6% + VAT to add the the final hammer price)

My guess is £26k plus fees, as being in Northern Ireland, its likely to need shipping elsewhere.
 
It will be considerably more than the ~£26k that #317 achieved at the weekend, but there are unknown recommissioning costs to take into account.

Despite apparently being stored well, it would be a brave soul that bought without a viewing unless money is no object...?

Shipping, most probably a Blind purchase, and for me, only 300 miles since 2007, is a worrying amount, however it was stored. Some things need to be kept moving and I think as rare as it is, these 3 factors will detract from the price. - as much as I’d like to see £35k

I would have thought someone might bid to £30K, but cars like this are real one-offs and the location probably doesn't help. But it will be interesting to see what it reaches.

If it's a 'unicorn' car with that mileage I honestly don't think the purchaser will care that it's in NI, or that it may need some work.

Those type of cars, especially 'rare' ones like the Roadster S, could fetch big money.

Apparently there are many financial institutions that buy up 'rare' cars as investments for the future. If one of those is interested there ain't many private buyers that could compete with their buying power.

A stored, delivery miles (or nearly), Sierra Cosworth 3 door was sold a couple of years ago. It looked in a right state as had been sat in a barn for nearly 40 years untouched. It achieved around £180k IIRC.

There is another uber low-mileage RHD RS - it only gets intermittent MOTs but is actually used between them, it was under 8400 miles at its last test. If I'm honest I'd rather buy that one than one that has sat unused and unserviced for 20 years
 
For a car that's only done 7,500 miles, it's needed a fair amount of (non-routine) attention, and there seem to be some discrepancies about ownership in the first 13 months

NB through other means, I found that it was registered as FJ55 HAX until July 2014, then changed to IJ Z4, and reverted to FJ55 HAX in July 2026

Slight discrepancy here as the V5 registration certificate for IJ Z4 says 'acquired vehicle on 10-07-2006', so there's 5 months unaccounted for.
In addition, the (new) V5 for FJ55 HAX says 'Was registered/used overseas' - AFAIAA Northern Ireland doesn't count as 'overseas' and cars can move freely between mainland UK and NI.

A lot of the problems are undoubtedly from sitting without turning a wheel - after the NI test certificate issued in 2009, it's only done 162 miles in the last 17 years!
 
I didn’t think the video of the underneath that’s been added is exactly a glowing recommendation either. It’s a bit too fast in places, so needs to be paused, but doesn’t look like a carcoon stored, only for wet once, 7500 miles car to me.

Apparently, it has only been in a carcoon for the last 8-9 years, i.e. not the first ~12, and the SORN address overlooks the Irish Channel.

It could be an interesting recommissioning project for the right person if they know what they're doing, go into it with their eyes open, and the reserve is sensible.

IF you use Google Maps to look at the address on the SORN notification (12 Rhanbuoy Park, Carrickfergus BT38 8BS), you'll find that it's a (right on the) seafront property so it would be exposed to a fair amount of wind-driven salt spray. I'd expect a car exposed to that amount of moist/salty air to show a fair amount of corrosion but if it was in a carcoon...?

Perhaps a carcoon protected it from the worst of the environment but there was still enough salt in the air used for ventilation to cause some deterioration.

Apparently, the car was put in the carcoon ~2017/18 when the car was ~12 years old. The sill rust treatment was in 2019, so some corrosion had likely started to set in before entering the carcoon.

...the rust removal from sills, 'pipes blasted' etc. are recent work so the corrosion may have got a hold while it was garaged - I'd be weary about the possibility of corrosion where it can't be easily seen.

The other parts that we know have failed and been replaced may also be due to environmental factors...

I think that, given the uncertainty, the £18,750 +fees (so £20,100) is already more than I'd be happy to risk on it.

Not necessarily. The eventual buyer may not know any of that stuff. AND it is still a very very low mileage, rare car.

IME mileage (or lack of) trumps everything else. You can mend a car but you can't undo miles (not legally anyway).
