What is the mean average age of Z4 Drivers?

I doubt you would have kept it long!

My mate was a salvage dealer and bought a stolen/recovered one in about 1986. He spent £800 on a decent stereo and a top of the range alarm, but within 2 weeks it got stolen again. And it was no quicker than my 2.8i Capri.
 
Old enough to have a pension and decide what to do with my time, and that insurance would be not be the cost like the mortgage on a house; not to worry so much about some head case politician (you know who we’re talking about ) … and to know the average boy racer up my bumper in his GTI is going to be seriously p****ed when I stretch my foot.
 
I'll soon be 63 and two and a half years away from leaving work, I'll have done 37 years at Thames by then.
I'm in the process of building a nice garage/workshop, to accommodate a few of my toys, so when I no longer need to go to work, I can fill my time, tinkering.

I had a Stag when I was 19, absolutely loved that car.
Young, money in my pocket... hair on me ed,
Then sold it a couple of years later for a deposit on our first house.
 
Bought my E89 at 33 and I’m now 35.

Im probably one of the youngest on here and it’s a pattern I’m seeing with car ownership in general. A lot of the younger generations aren’t interested in driving and those that do happen to want a licence often want something cheap, economical and green.

Driving for fun is a dying pastime.

I'm 53 and own a MK1 TT and Z4, had the TT for 3 years, the Z4 for 7 months, had an E85 for a few weeks then gave it back to the dealer, Mk2 Beetle (bought for ex girlfriend at the time) for 11 years! poor thing only had two services in my ownership, MG ZS180 before that, loved that car. Prior to that I have had a Fiat Uno(gift), Fiat Panda(gift) and a MK1 MR2 I crashed into a wall. My first car was a Mk2 Vauxhall Cavalier. Age is but a number!

I bought my E89 in my late 40s, tried to turn the tide of old age... even had a go at reducing the grey on my head then one night while been out drinking with my mates I was at a taxi rank to get up the road, two youngsters jumped the queue and I told them to get behind me or else, one turned around and said 'calm down Elvis!' as I stood there in shock they took my cab. I still plan to grow old disgracefully :rofl:
 
Brought my first Z, a Z3 2.8 some 15 years ago and a 3.0 12 years ago. Kept the 3.0 for about 4 years. Now have just purchased a Z4 g29 30i a few weeks back. 78 in December.
 
Speaking as someone who has run the forum since 2007, it started off the age was 30's - 60 mainly (strangely the older folks were mainly US based). This was due to the Z4 being new and the younger folks couldn't afford it. Then as the years went on the demographic became younger as the second hand market became more affordable. Nowadays the age has gone up again as the younger folks cant afford the latest Zed and I guess they have limited interest in the older ones.

Good point actually... didn't think of that... and forums are harder to find now, especially since Google replaced search results with "AI answers"

Since so many 'car forums' have become redundant and all the 'new money' have migrated to Facebook 'pages', the age of the average forum users I see is at least 50.
I do think that is a consequence of people of a certain age not liking the 'facebook' genre. I have signed up to a few facebook car groups (cos the forums are empty) but I hate them. I find facebook's algorithms to be confusing and make no sense. Also, as anyone can start a facebook 'page', there are millions of them, so most are quiet.

Facebook car pages are filled with younger people just wanting information (or an argument) instantly and then never to be seen again. There is no 'community' on these pages.
