Looking to purchase an E85 (M54 motor)

Hello everyone!
I have been looking into buying a z4 e85 for quite some time.
I have come across a listing of a 2005 2.2L with about 175k km. The owner has done some upgrades which include : recently had oil/filter change, spark plugs, brake fluid and brake lines, gear/differential oil, driveshaft center bearing(or center support bearing, not 100% sure how it is called), differential mount, front control arms, bushings/control arm bushings , coolant expansion tank, bilstein b6 suspension, and the the soft top works perfectly. Also has a service log with receipts.
The car is listed for 7500€ and the price is up for negotiation.
Sorry for the whole block of text but I don’t know much about these cars and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is this a good purchase? Them saying that the price is not firm means that I can possibly knock off 1-2k (I will be paying cash/in full).

Hello. It’s hard to advise from the UK, because Z4s are so much cheaper here. £6,500 (roughly converted from your €7,500) is an almost unthinkable price for a 2.2i, particularly over 100k miles.

Upgrades and/or work done do not tend to command a higher price either. More important is the service history, specification and condition.

You could realistically come over to UK, buy a good condition 2.5i with 120k kilometres for half that price. The only penalty is the steering wheel will be on the wrong side.

I am actually amazed by the price that these cars are going for in the uk. The example I gave is one of the better ones as well! The absolute cheapest one I found near me is a 2.5, has about 250.000km and costs 4900€ it’s ridiculous

Too right. If anyone worked out how to do a RHD to LHD conversion at a reasonable cost, there would be a real market opportunity.
