Hi all
Just wondered if anyone could help with the results of my scan, i used a paid app call Car Scanner. My main concern is the first one initially but i dont know why it says inactive) after it. I have left the modules where nothing was found in the log in case it helps with any other questions.

I am a complete novice with this stuff.

Well looks like either the DSC has died or something else on the data bus is dragging it down..

Needs a full ISTA class network scan to see which networks / modules are on line and which are not..

I have been contemplating selling her recently as i could do with something a little more practical, but i am struggling to come to terms with parting with her. I guess it depends on the cost of the repairs, if its a lot i will keep her as the market is not great and i wont get a decent price anyway.

so I decided to start her up as she had been barely used for a few weeks. Started up (needed a jump mind you) and the engine light was no longer on, so i took her for a spin, fully expecting it to come back on during the drive. However the light did not come back on. to the garage for the MOT today.

Took her to the garage for the MOT this morning and still the light has not come back on. not sure what happened and i have never heard of an issue just disappearing but i will take it. Will be nice to use her a little bit more, i pretty much stopped driving her as soon as the light appeared.

I bought my mum a Volvo V40 D4 to replace her Aygo, and it had an intermittent check engine light. It would come on every now and then, but there was never any noticeable change in how the car drove, so I'd just scan it and clear the fault code.

It's probably been about a year since the light last appeared, and the car is still running as well as ever.

Obviously that might not happen with yours but it is possible I suppose.

MOT failed front near side shock leaking. Price quoted £1020 (including MOT etc) £621 for the shock and apparently like rocking horse poo to get hold of. .

Near side front shock absorber (strut) electric needed. Can anyone advise on a suitable alternative.

I nearly fell off my chair.

Sachs now offer the electronic versions for about £400 ish a pop..plug n play ..plus fitting of course

Car is back with a shiny new MOT certificate. She is running beautifully.
Good news Ray 👌

I’ve had the engine light pop on a time or two too, car ran as sweet as normal so I ignored it, wasn’t on the next day, same the couple of other times it’s done it, if it’s misfiring different story bit some are too quick to throw the panic mode out and pay lots for nowt, these are old cars now relatively speaking, a sensor misbehaving every once in a blue moon now isn’t a drama if the cars running properly.
