Coolant plus engine light

Couple of issues with my 2005 2.0, every time i drive it hard for a decent amount of time, coolant(water at the minute)will absolutely pour down into the undertray from either the radiator or expansion tank im not sure which. Its fine when driving normally and my temp gauge is reading fine. Engine does feel quite hot after a very short amount of time not sure if that has any correlation. Also quite a lumpy idle possibly concerning the engine light which has read on the diagnostic as the MAF sensor but i know it might not be as easy as just replacing it. Any help would be appreciated

That won’t help at all

If it’s seized you’ll need a new one of those

The eml will be a separate issue

But if you say the temperature gauge isn’t moving then the fan won’t come on.
To check it, switch on the aircon. It should run then.

Sorry i didn’t explain it that well, its not saying im overheating or anything, just saying dead in the middle once warm but feels really hot-with the addition of fan not working and possibly coolant not circulating properly

Ah ok, so it feels hot in the car? But the temp stays in the middle?
So now I wonder if that could be a knackered water pump. Not circulating the water, so you get hotspots but the bit by the temp sensor is staying the correct temperature?
Still worth checking the fan with the aircon though.

Oh, and as it's a 2.0 it has an extra circulation pump, mounted down low in the passenger side of the engine bay, on the outer wall just forward of the suspension tower. It's a black cylinder with an electrical plug and two coolant hoses. You should be able to feel if it's running or not.

Thats perfect im literally up the road from perranporth in goonhavern, ive put the air con on and the fan isnt spinning, doesnt blow cold but dont think that matters. Slightly confused as well should i check that circulation pump whilst just the car is running. My possible theory for all this was the thermostat not opening/closing properly i dont know if that is plausible though.

We stay at Harrods Cottages, Perranzabuloe (may have spelled that wrong?)
Anyway.............. definitely sounds like the fan has an issue for starters. As long as there is pressure in the ac system it should kick in.
If you take the plastic cover off at the front of the engine bay you'll see the top of the radiator. On the left as you look at it (drivers side), there is a big plug with two fat wires and one tiny green one which is the signal wire to tell it to run. Thast has a habit of corroding and not making the circuit.

Those cottages are 2 miles from where i live😂how random is that lol. Might be a silly question but would that have anything to do with the car running too hot causing the pressure in the coolant or even my AC not blowing cold?

If the fan isn't running then it could possibly be causing hot spots. Not quite sure about the aircon. That could be a few different problems and probably needs an aircon specialist to look at it.
For now, I think the first thing for you to do is identify exactly where the coolant is coming out from if you can.

Almost looks like its coming out both drain plugs for tank and radiator, but not sure as its just wetness around that area
