Aftermarket Headlights for E89

Hi has anyone bought aftermarket headlights like this below? Any opinions on how they worked?

I think they’re only for sale on Alibaba or Aliexpress so expecting customs and vat charges on top as usual.


I think they do different AFS and Non-AFS versions, my car is a 2010 23i, I’m assuming it doesn’t have AFS but how can I check that?

Also they say you have to check the light rear connector matches their photo, is that the difference between an AFS or non AFS headlight perhaps?

Hi yeah that’s true, I’m hoping those adjustment tabs on the back of light may help a bit.

I tried some earlier design, not these, they were lefthand drive light pattern only.
Why they aren't adjustable for righthand drive markets, enough in east asia market.

Yeah youre right, I’ll have to see what the adjustment is like on the headlight itself

That won't correct beam pattern, only alignment

You might at best get the lever that takes the LHD uptick off but I doubt it in an aftermarket thing. Almost all handed car parts on AliExpress are designed for LHD cars. Friend needed a driver's side window switch module for a Transit and bought a cheap one. Works fine but the switches are swapped left to right.

Alternative: If you can live without your car for a few weeks --like in the winter--, and can package your headlights properly, consider OSS Designs. The chaps name is Luis. He's in North Carolina, USA. Proper bloke. Look him up on Instagram and Facebook. He did a great job for me three years ago. Good luck.
