I recently purchased a 2004 3.0L and I was really lucky to have a week of unusually beautiful weather in Plymouth. I've taken my son to several cricket matches over the last two weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed the 'top-down' experience. Wow, isn't just the best thing to be able to drive open to the elements. I can't take my smile off my face when driving. I'm no youngster and so the power of the Straight-Six engine is pretty awesome but definitely rewarding. I look forward to learning a lot from the Z4 Forum. Time for work! Best wishes to you all.

Welcome, yeah you can’t beat the wind in the hair experience.
Let’s have some customary pictures of your new chariot.πŸ‘πŸ»

Hi, I'm only up the road in Shaugh Prior and tend to do a lot with the southwest z4 group. We were in South Wales last weekend and there's a monthly meet at Refuel Cullompton, usually with a drive out afterwards. Check out Facebook, there's a meet on the first weekend each Month. Might see you there but whatever keep tapped into this site it can be really helpful and a bit of a giggle.πŸ‘

Welcome and good to hear you are enjoying the Z4 experience 😊
As you will now be aware, there is quite an active group of fellow enthusiasts in your part of the world. 😊

Welcome Kedge24. Also bought my first convertible 18 months ago and have enjoyed many sunny drives over Dartmoor and North Wales. Add some photos and I shall look out for you. 😎

My thanks to the numerous members who have responded to my request for advice and guidance with regard to the problem I have with the alarm going off so often that I have had to resort to just using the key to lock the car.

Lots of references to various sensors (and please forgive my ignorance in this respect) but would this mean that the alarm would not be set/armed when I use the fob to lock the car? As, I say, this is all new to me so please accept my apologies in advance if this is a stupid question.

Best wishes

If you disconnect the bonnet plunger, the alarm will still be set, but opening the bonnet won't trigger it.
Same goes for using Scanner 1.4 to switch off motion sensor, or tilt sensor. The alarm will still be set, but those elements won't work.
