Hi guys, having an issue here.
When the ignition is turned on the cluster display working as shown in the first pic but within 5-10 seconds it goes blank (second pic)
Cycle the ignition and same again, the screen obviously works but no clue why it’s doing that.
Any ideas?? Thanks in advance

Likely the lcd display is failing or the contacts are corroded

Fairly easy fix as the display can be replaced and doesn’t need coding

I think you've got a fault no-one's seen before. I would say that it's a backlight fault - if you wind the instrument brightness up full is it apparent that the backlight is going off?

Stuart, can the display be replaced separately then, without having to swap the whole unit and swap over the chip?

Seems it needs a refresh

...You have to explain to the dealer what you did and want you wish to accomplish. I told them about the button and how it just needs a reflash through the MODIC. I hadn't found any good updated instructions so I wanted them to tell me exactly how they did it if they activated it. My service advisor was really interested in what I was trying to do, and the mechanics were as well. I told them it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to do from what I saw...

What is MODIC?

Sorry I don’t agree that is flash issue at all
I took the lcd out and there was no corrosion etc that I could see, it’s strange as ever time I turn the ignition on it works for 5 seconds same time everytime, it leaning towards the lcd not been broke and it being a different issue but I’m not sure

I have approx 10 spares if you need one to try
Thank you for the offer, there are clusters on eBay for about £20 so I’ll just buy one of them as my lenses has scratches anyway. If I plug the new cluster in to check if it works will it cause any issues with the Milage?
I had a Megane that I changed the clocks on and the new ones had a higher Milage and it altered the cars milage immediately
