Knowing you lot on here have excellent taste I thought I'd see what ideas/opinions you have for this...

I had to buy a car very quickly a few weeks ago, and ended up with one of these in black with yellow bits. Love the car itself, but in hindsight I wish I'd travelled further for a green one.

I'm sure changes can be made to make this look a lot better... what would you do?

I feel like I need to change the wheels, the front grill, get rid of all the yellow and maybe even see if I can learn how to wrap the car in a nice dark blue, deep glossy red or dark green.

Here are some ideas so far:

Rather than spending money on alterations, which you won't get back come sale time, why not just sell it and buy one you really want?

Oh and I like the metallic blue one 😊

Go the whole hog and buy an original mini cooper. Then you can spend your weekends welding and trying to lose weight, so you can get in it. ;)

I'd have always looked for a colour rather than the typical German monochrome options, but the Gulf or JPS liveries both look pretty good and may be your cheapest options.

No offence intended, but the wheels on yours look minging.

Too much common sense there, no thanks 😂

Yeah the blue is the best of that bunch IMO.

Had to be quick and this was the only colour nearby at the right price (99% of them seem to be black or white/grey - I have a feeling any options on these when new meant they were too expensive to get a government subsidy), otherwise I'd have looked for green.

Yeah the wheels are awful, especially as mine are heavily kerbed. Would have ordered a set of new ones already, but the other half has very strong opinions about me buying wheels, so I have to choose the right time 😬

I can relate to the lack of choice buying used cars at the right price. That's why I have gone from a Montego Blue E86 and Imola Red E46 Compact to a Silver Grey MC and a Sparkling Graphite E90.

Presumably those wheels are diamond cut too, so can only be refinished a finite number of times. Good luck finding the right time to get replacements.

They're diamond cut, painted yellow stripe and about 4 different finishes, and weird plastic cover and they need a special tool to be balanced when fitting tyres. Silliest wheels ever.
