M market watch

That looks like a good MR, even if it did miss the 23 March cut-off.

It seems crazy that Simon3.2 struggled to sell his Imola Red MR that was registered before that date, and it ended up going to Germany because the buyer reckoned it would work out cheaper to convert it to LHD than buy one in Germany!

Poor advert that. Just 2 pictures of the front of the car. Very little info.

Which suggests they haven't been done, so the price looks a bit optimistic to me.

How much should be put aside for rod bearings these days? Presumably there would be other stuff worth doing at the same time?
£1500-£2000 depending on where you take it.

Whilst the bottom end is off, you'd probably want to be checking/replacing the oil pump, chain, etc.

I had new engine mounts fitted too as the old ones were in a really sorry state!

Ah, ok. Sounds like you could end up £3k in straight off the bat!
It shouldn't be quite that painful!

I took mine to RBM Hampshire for an Inspection 2 in April 2020 and by the time it had a new cam-chain tensioner, Vanos filter, Powerflex rear trailing arm bushes and headlamp bulbs it was £1,122. 50. In hindsight I should have had the bearing shells done at the same time and I got those and the engine mounts replaced in August 2020 for £966.60 as I supplied the oil!

But you have to go into M ownership with your eyes open and credit card ready. An Inspection 1 and new front discs, pads and calipers cost £1707.

Apparently this one has 420bhp, that would be interesting 🧐 🤣
I “think” I like the 18’s on it, CSL look but compliance of standard size???
