Hi everyone.
I've encountered an issue with my 2013 BMW Z4 E89 28i (N20). Most of the time, the car runs perfectly quietly and smoothly, without any unusual noises.
However, as soon as I need to drive fast for whatever reason, such as being late for work or rushing somewhere, a strange rattling sound appears. It sounds like slight rattling coming from the engine area or the front of the car, especially under load.
I’ve taken it to the service centre twice, but naturally, nothing shows up when the car is idling. There are no diagnostic errors. The car is quiet when idling and during normal driving. I’m starting to think this might be related to- temperature (engine/ambient), load (sudden acceleration, high boost), or perhaps certain components are only starting to resonate under specific conditions.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Are there typical 'floating' noises associated with the N20 that are hard to detect during diagnostics?
