The underside and drivetrain are getting the love and attention this week. Lots of seized under tray fixings preventing access to the oily bits so they will all be replaced front to back and while the trays are off, the engine, gearbox and diff are all getting a fluid change (52k) and the Clutch Delay Valve is being deleted. Reports suggest that this is a very easy and worthwhile mod to remove a nanny device and improve the clutch operation and feel. I hope it does and I will report back on here when I’ve put it through its paces. The clutch is really the only disappointment with the driving experience and it’s worse in Sport than in Comfort but the car otherwise feels way better in Sport so hopefully the mod will complete the picture. Specifically, it is setting off in 1st and the upchange into 2nd under load where the CDV delete should make the most difference. Downshifts and higher gear upshifts are typically ok due to greater momentum.
Watch this space. Being done Wednesday. If it’s night and day, there will be a reply immediately.Looking forward to hearing how you get on! Keep thinking of doing the clutch delay valve delete, as I performed it on my old 350z and it made a nice difference, from what I remember.

Nice looking rims. What are the widths and offsets on these ?View attachment 292867
After months of wanting to scratch the itch on some 19s, I finally bit the bullet and bought a set of refurbished 351Ms!
I love the look of 5 spokes on the E89 and the 351M wheels look similar to the OEM 326Ms whilst being a bit stronger, given their greater load bearing requirements for a 5 series.
Now to save some money for a set of Michelins!
I’m running F30 400M 18s at the moment with 20mm rear and 12mm front spacers.Nice looking rims. What are the widths and offsets on these ?
Be good to see some pics when they are on the car![]()
Agree. Fronts should be about spot on but the rears will sit 4mm inboard of a standard 326 rear. You will likely need 15mm spacers on the rear to achieve a nice OEM+ stance. I have 10mm on the 326 and it is not aggressive. Pic belowI’m running F30 400M 18s at the moment with 20mm rear and 12mm front spacers.
The 351Ms are 8.5J front and 9J rear. Offset on the front is +1mm more than the 400Ms and rear is +3 more than 400Ms. I will be running 235/35/19 fronts and 255/35/19 rears. Depending on price, I may go a little wider on the rears.
The 351Ms should sit even better, as there’s a tiny bit more space before they’re flush with the arch.
Could you post some pics of yours on the 400m please. Was considering a set of those. Thanks.I’m running F30 400M 18s at the moment with 20mm rear and 12mm front spacers.

Were the mounts shot? Stock replacements?Ouch. Oil pan gasket, waterpump and engine mounts.
ah ok thnxNo I don't believe they were shot. But given the car has seen 96K miles, why not do them now. Since they have to partially disconnect them in the oil pan process any way. New mounts are corteco 22116760330.
