Hi all,

After 3 years of ownership, I’m looking to part ways with my Z and start gauging any potential buyers.

The car is a 2003 E85 Z4 2.5i. Sadly the car is not in the best nick cosmetically on the exterior, particularly the bumper and alloys. I’ve taken pictures to show this.

However, the car is well sorted mechanically with stacks of receipts to back it up dating back to the initial purchase. The car has been serviced every year in my ownership and it has passed its most recent MOT with no advisories to back this up.

Recent work (not including usual servicing)
2021:
  • New front and rear brake pipes and flexis.
  • New near side parking sensor
2023:
  • New rocker cover gasket
  • New inner tie rods and 4 wheel alignment.
  • New Sachs rear shock absorbers, dust covers, bump stops and top mounts.
  • New Pagid brake pads at the front.
  • Roof motor relocated to the boot.
  • New drive belt and A/C belt

2024:
  • Clutch delay valve removed.

2025:
  • Inspection 2 Service.

2026:
  • Oil filter housing gasket replaced + Oil service + coolant
Options:
  • Wind Deflector
  • 6 CD changer
  • Xenon headlights
  • Dimming mirrors
  • Hifi System
  • ZHP gear knob
The mileage may increase a little as the car is still used occasionally.

3 owners, Manual, £2,999. Open to offers!

It has only been a week, but it’s been quiet and I am looking to move this on now. I’m not sure whether the price is a bit optimistic or not? I’m happy to move on the price.

Does anyone have any suggestions on an appropriate price given the condition?

You could show a few pics with the roof down, and confirm in your write-up whether the roof mechanism works or not? Also, maybe show 1 or 2 pics of the engine bay, and inside the boot? Might be worth mentioning roughly where you live as well, in case that is a consideration for any potential buyers?

Personally, I think the price seems pretty good - But I'm not an expert (massive understatement!). It seems like a lot of car for the money, good luck with the sale mate

As Davey says, confirming the roof works fine, the boot area is dry (especially around the motor and the battery) will help.
The 2.5 is less sought after than the 3.0 and it does have a few battle scars - which you have been completely up-front about.
I would say you about right on the pricing as you are allowing for some friendly negotiation.
I think you just need to be a little patient. Once the temperatures improve for more than 2 days then interest in a convertible will grow once more.
Oh, and maybe broaden your selling medium to include "other" sites :)

There are other elements going on like the current economic situation and fuel prices probably haven't helped with weekend toy purchases.

Thanks everyone. The guidance is appreciated. Not home currently but will add some more pictures when I’m back!
