Unregulated and every man for himself. Someone needs to tell kerosene suppliers that profiteering is illegal in the UK.
In fact, I would bet Boilerjuice are behind this profiteering. Cos that's what it is.
If I was still buying kerosene-28-sec I would be looking into the practices of Boilerjuice et al. Not that anyone would care.
Luckily I am now on mains gas, via EDF, who don't know their arse from their elbow so I haven't paid a penny for gas for over two years! They changed the gas meter in 2023 and can't sort their shite out.

Independents are getting screwed on wholesale costs, as they buy from whoever is cheapest; normally. Major brands and supermarkets not so much.
It is profiteering by some. Did I mention that is illegal in the UK? The Gov have a new name for it; "price gouging" as that doesn't use the illegal word. Which essentially means the Gov aren't interested, despite Rachel's rhetoric to sound as though they are.
United Kingdom: No specific "price gouging" law exists.
I paid the equivalent for both diesel and Shell V-Power this week, which is very high for Sydney. At the same fuel station, since I filled up a few days ago the prices have increased 20-30 cents per litre. E10 is around £1.29 per litre and diesel £1.56 as of today. Average petrol prices in Sydney last year were around 85-90p per litre and diesel was around 99p per litre.
The Australian media keeps talking about "fighting back against price gouging", but it's also empty rhetoric.

This was at a notorious expensive garage this Saturday in San Francisco. $7/gal is about 138 in old money.
Needed fuel. Price may have been cheaper elsewhere - but the last 3 stations I passed & said 'fook that' were similar.

Would have felt like an idiot if I had got stranded despite the big yellow 'STOP & BUY FUEL' warning on the dash for the last 30 minutes
Stopped at the motorway services at 4am this morning (didn;t need fuel) - but noticed they are at £1.99 on the signs - likely higher than that, as I think they only display up to £1.99
It's mental.
