B12 Pro-Kit - Ordering from Germany

Went to drive to work yesterday, rolled about an inch, heard a nasty bang, got out, looked at the front offside, and it's had it. 😆

I'm going to replace all the springs and dampeners as I imagine they are all the originals and if this one has gone the rest aren't far behind.

Has anyone ordered suspension/parts from Germany suppliers? The prices appear significantly better than over here.

Don't forget you'll likely get hit with import duty.
Usually get a letter about a week after the parts arrive.

Import duty will take the total to c.£830, including shipping. This still sounds like a reasonable price to me, other kits such as the entry level BC Racing and ST kits are close to a grand.

Fair enough, I only said don't forget it.

Just in case anyone somehow runs into a similar issue as me, I ended up ordering the set from Bilstein UK, who then had to wait for a shipment from Germany, all in all it took 20 days from payment to receiving the package.

I can also confirm that going from 100k miles shagged suspension to the B12 pro kit has been incredible. Would 100% do it again.

Looks great!

I also switched to the B12 setup on my 30i after 138k miles on the OEM M Sport suspension. As you say, the difference is absolutely night and day!

Thanks! Did your 30i make it all the way to 138k on the original suspension? That's incredible if so, I bet your difference was even more drastic than mine.
Well, I’m making an assumption that it was all original, bar a replaced spring due to one breaking. I’ve only had the car from 136k miles, so couldn’t say for certain. Everything was certainly OEM that came off and the shocks didn’t behave with any enthusiasm!

I went out for the first spirited drive this weekend and i'm just blown away at the difference, the stability increase at higher speeds is shocking, feel far more in control. I think the next thing i'm going to invest in is a set of M3 control arms. 🤔

That’s my plan too! Obviously with a full wheel alignment too.

If you end up doing it before me, make a post on how you get on (including any cost saving tips...).

I believe a lot of people use the TRW branded M3 arms, same as BMW just cheaper.
Lemforder supplies the OE version of the control arms//// TRW and Lemforder good products!

New Meyle HD tie rods make a great contribution too ..then you can tackle the rear end
