Motor mounts need to be replaced at 17,000 miles on my 2019 Z4 30i, 4 cyl.! Seriously?

I just picked up my 2019 Z4 from the dealership where they performed the starter recall. During their inspection they found that one of the motor mounts was ruptured and of course both need to be replaced. The car is out of the 5-year warranty period but again, only 17,000 miles. I have asked about any type of dealership goodwill but have not heard anything back. Anyone out there with an early problem with motor mounts on this model? Quoted price from the dealership is $1,912. If I am going to have to pay what about private shops verses the dealership? The car is out of warranty so why go back to them especially if there is no goodwill coming on this issue? I have researched and found failures +45,000 miles but nothing this soon. Is this a problem with this model? No factory recalls on it that I can find. Any feedback would be appreciated

If you can follow this link it is the inspection report with video from the technician.

Second note will be a separate thread - 17,000 miles and the tires are close to replacement! Wow! That seems way to soon.

Looks like this a 'feature' of several G series cars..more prone to failure compared to the solid rubber mounts

If the tyres last 17k miles then a 'pussy' must have been driving!-:)

I just commented on you're tire thread... apparently you had the same thought as I did about the motor mounts. I have a 2012 with 50K and motor mounts are still doing their job. Not sure if they were done by previous owner thought. I'm pretty sure the oil pan gasket was done at some point so they may have replaced them when they were in there. 17K seems early for motor mounts.

2012 will be E89. OP has a G29, so different mounts.

Yes they shouldn't but they do fail early..the G29 is not quite as perfect as folks hoped for..B58 engines going south now..
