I recently joined to find out more about these cars, and help me know what to look for when buying one. I have narrowed it down to an E89 2009-2011, favoring a 3i, but also considering a 2.3i. Folk have been very helpful with information and advice. Many thanks.

A 30i seems to be quite rare, but there are loads of 23i models around.

I'm just along the road in Hamilton, we have a breakfast meet soon (either this weekend or next depending on weather) but it's over at Loch Leven, We have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/z4ownersscotland/

It might allow you the opportunity to have a look at cars up close and ask the owners questions before you make any decision.
 
Hello from Argyll. Depends on how you want to use it. Had a 23i, wished I'd bought a 30i instead. Very quickly moved into a 35iS as the 23i just didn't have the grunt/overtaking abilities in was looking for, especially on the west coast of Scotland where overtaking opportunities can be limited.

Hi Zed, I am planning on going along to Loch Leven this Sunday, and hope to have a good blether with folk, and pick their brains. Thanks for the information.
