Luggage Compartment Cover Query

While replacing the hall sensors earlier I noticed the plastic clamps where the luggage cover aren’t the bar look a bit random. They appear to be 3D printed, and not very tight fitting. 1 also appears to be upside down.

Are these the same as on everyone else’s car?! Should they be clamped together a bit tighter?

Looks like a ok attempt at 3D printed.
Looks like they made them too thick where they attach to cover leading to the gap.
Could try sanding down to close the gap up.
Perhaps some extra screws.
On the originals i used 3 carriage bolts so looks more professional.

What should they look like?!

I’m wondering if this could be the source of the bad rattle I hear from inside the car.

Keep in mind that 3D prints never are massive filled up! Generally the surfases consist of 3-4 levels of filament with a diameter of ~0.3mm each.

Ah, very interesting! I was completely oblivious to this! The 3D printed ones in my car are terrible, I may look for an OEM pair on ebay then just screw them.

How tight should the hinges be clamped around the bar? Just 1 or 2mm of play, or more? Mine probably has a good 5/6mm, which makes me think the whole thing is rattling around more than it should be.

I repaired mine back in 2017, if you have the originals just drill out the posts and these bolts are perfect for the job only a few quid on amazon and took about an hour to do and look OEM.
