I posted this in another z4 forum but I know this is very improbable—-I bought my 30i silver 2 1/2 months ago with 66k miles. I’m the second owner looking for 1st owner. They bought it new from Bmw Seattle Washington State. The owner moved from Seattle around 2016 to Oak Harbor (Whidbey Island) Washington. In the spring of last year it was traded in and then sold on Guru to a dealer and then sold to the dealer in Portland Oregon that I bought the car from. I love the car but would like to know all the history from the original owner if possible. The car was always serviced at the BMW dealer in Seattle and it is obvious it was well taken care of and only averaging 4500k mileage a year. So if the above info rings a bell with someone (maybe someone in Washington State) let me know—-thank you.

Presumably this was Bimmerpost? That is more US based than this one. You will still be extremely lucky if you find them. Only a tiny percentage of owners use car forums. Even less previous owners.
Nothing on any invoices, have you tried the main dealers?
If they have the info but cant tell you, perhaps ask them to reach out to the previous owner with your details, that way no data breach.
Not sure how helpful bmw dealers are over there, hopefully more so than our largely unhelpful ones.
