Just checking in to say hi :) Picked up this new to me 2009 sDrive 30i last Saturday. N52 with 77k on the clock. 2 former owners with FSH, last 6 years it has been serviced every year with an average mileage of 4k miles, nearly new Kumho Ecsta on the rear and new Bridgestone Potenza's on the front. I was thinking about changing the 17s for 18s but really like the look of the 17s with a bit of extra sidewall. Also came with the personal plate!

It's a weekend fun car so have only driven it twice as the weather has been awful. My old MK1 TT has been putting in the work in the meantime. Absolutely loving the car, cant stop looking at it. Have read many many posts on here regarding common issues. Have ordered a new Pierburg waterpump (just in case) and 2 salmon relays for the roof motor. Just about to purchase Protool and a cheap Android tablet. Checked the motor and foam housing and all bone dry with no evidence of water ingress, given the car is outside and it hasn't stopped raining for a week I'm very happy. The motor is still very shiny!

It doesn't have bluetooth music streaming (just phone calls) so I have fit a little Ugreen BT adapter (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CQCPVBGF?tag=z4fo-21) to the Aux and USB port under the arm rest, works great, it has a little control unit that I put in the coin holder so I can change tracks rather than using the phone.

Anyway, thanks for the amazing forum and Im sure you will see more of me and the car on here in future!! Already looking at an xHP map :)

Hi, and Welcome apart from the colour/alloy size looks a similar spec as mine. The 3.0i is a great drive, and like you mine is a weekend hi-days and holiday car and yes it allways puts a smile on my face when I walk in the garage. Enjoy

Hello.
The 30i does seem to be the most sought after E89 at the moment.
Extended leather by the look of it aswell.
Yes it has the - Leather "Nappa/elfenbein-weiss" option. Spotless, no marks or scratches. So clean and perfect I'm kind of scared to sit in it!

I had a manual E85 3.0i for a short time recently so definately wanted the 6, I already have a modded MK1 TT, so didn't want another turbo. I was slightly put off by the auto (never had one), but never had flappy paddles and am loving the auto now, need some time to get used to using the paddles in manual mode though, feels so weird.

And I see you've 'got wood'. ;)

Welcome ..maybe review your choice of tyres front / rear ?

As in..pls get a matched set!-:)
Ahh, I see, yes. I'm planning on it, had the car less than a week so far. So much research, fear, and potential money to be spent. I don't just buy a car and use it, it becomes a project with a long list, its all part of the ownership journey for me! My TT took about a year and a half to get the way I want it, I dont even want to think how much I have spent, resale value hasn't gone up, just the bank balance gone down! The Z4 will be the same :) I look for a good base, which this one seems to be (everything works, history and condition are great), i'll give it a few months though, that gives me the confidence to commit to spending money on it.

Hello and welcome to the forum, the interior does look great and the black ash trim doesn't look out of place. I found the 17" quite and comfortable, even though they were run flats, are they the same size tyres front and rear, because the should be?. I eventually used the 17's with winter tyres and got a set of BBS 18" again a square set up and the noise wasn't significantly worse. 19" with Bridgestone run flats is very noisy and uncomfortable

Thank you. The trim makes me feel like I'm in a special place!

Could you please let me know which 18" BBS alloys you have? I have original 18" BBS RS2's on my TT with Pirelli PZeros 225/40, (The sidewall is great). I am still undecided with the Z4, I really like the look of the 17" 290s on the car. Though 18s with staggered just seems cooler :) my E85 had a perfect set of staggered 108s wich I loved; 225/40, 255/35. Seems to make sense for RWD grip to have larger tyres at the back, in reality I dont know how much difference this makes, but it looks cool!

:D Yes, just realised this was an option - Fine-wood version, Fineline, anthracite (S4CE)
And sports seats (S481), not sure if these are standard equipment though.

Shame they didn't swing for 18" wheels, oh well :) Though, as I said, I actually like the 290 17s.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Your Z4 looks great especially the interior, and the 3 litre N52 engine is fantastic. I really like Style 290 wheels - I ran a set on my 330i (N52) for a few years. I'm a big fan of 5 spoke styles, and as a bonus they are easy to clean!

Yours is an SE spec (hence the small wheels) but with optioned M-sport seats (which look to be heated). Never driven an SE E89, but they have better springs than the horrendously stiff M-sport ones, especially noticeable with bigger wheels.

The ivory interior with the 'wood' is the same combo as my old F31. I liked it, even though mine had 'deck chair' spec seats. I didn't get on with the F31, though.
