I’m looking for my longed-after retirement car.
Cash waiting and keen to get on the road.
I may consider a 28 but prefer the 6 pot.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum and good luck finding your Z4. Deep Sea Blue is a great colour, especially with the Ivory seats.

Big difference between a N52 and N54…

I suspect not that many DSBs..

Hi and welcome.
You say you are looking for a 30i, 35is or possibly a 28i. Three very different engines with potentially very different running costs and driving experiences.
I would suggest doing some research on here on the three and decide which will suit you best. Then decide if you want an M-sport or SE, as they have different suspension among other things.
There is a lot of information on all of the models on this forum.

If it's a 'longed-after retirement car' you really want to find the one which you will enjoy the most, as well as knowing the potential pitfalls with all of them. As well as finding an example which hopefully won't give you too many headaches (and wallet-aches).

If you have your heart set on DSB as a colour, you may have to wait for the right car. However, I would suggest going to view others in different colours. If you like any of them it will broaden your market. Melbourne Red, Valencia Orange and even plain old Alpine White suit the E89 very well IMO. Estoril Blue is also lovely, but was only available in the last 18 months of production, so not very common.

The forum is the best place to find the best cars for sale IMO, however, not many people will want to sell until Spring, as the desirability (and prices) goes up then!

That is the best written piece of advice for any prospective E89 owner i have read! 👍👍

Thanks for your input, advice and wisdom guys - sorry for delayed response.
I’m pretty set on DSB but Valencia Orange is a very strong second. I’ve seen the Northampton cars on AT, the 40k 30i looks interesting although not quite the spec I’m looking for. I’d like parking sensors and the pro audio setup, plus would want to put Appleplay into it so a 35 spec would be better.
I’ll keep looking, shout if you see anything out there 👍👍

Parking sensors (or PDC as BMW like to pretentiously call them) are a must on an E89 in my opinion. Luckily many were specified with them, as they were part of a popular 'pack'. Just be aware that some have aftermarket sensors fitted.

But with the youngest E89 now 10yrs old are aftermarket parking sensors an issue if they work..? 🧐

Hi Beacon, I’m considering selling my 2013 Alpine White manual 35i if you are open to other colours. Happy to share more details and pictures if you’re interested 🙂
