Wasn't as bad asI thought it was going to be. 4bolt and a plug for the motor on the front one. 6 bolts and two plugs for the heated screen on the rear.A bit fiddly getting the gaps right but all done in a couple of hours. Does anyone have a use for these panels? They have blisters on them so not really expecting to sell them.

Hopefully you've replaced the 6+4 screws with new ones as prescribed by BMW.

Not yet. But I left the headlining down for now to do just that. I'm ordering them on Monday.

I’d be interested for a ‘project’..l

good work! I replaced the bolts as well when I messed with my panels. I'm not fully convinced that just redoing the blue threadlock wouldnt have done just as well -- but I listened to RobbiZ4 for his wisdom/experience/earned-pain

Well, I'm with you and made some tests with Loctite on already used screws. Mechanically these screws are ok, if they got removed after warming up with a heatgun.

My problem with the different i.e. Loctite types is that it mustn't be too loose, but also not so tight that you can't loosen the screws in the next 10 years if once more required.
It's practically impossible to replace damaged screws up there (drilling in an aluminium environment).

That is too risky from my point of view and I strongly recommend using the (expensive) original screws.
