Some of you will be aware that I bought Martyn`s M coupe last year and so I am going to continue to put any updates on it here . Martyn`s original build post which is a great read is here https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=138219

Firstly I bought a Lenovo tablet to replace the one that Martyn needed to keep so that I could use the MaxxECU MDash software that shows all the information you could possibly need on the engine .

I need to do something about the marks on the surround to the left of the tablet .

De-badged and then replaced the side indicators as they were a bit worn .

Next I bought a used cat back Supersprint x pipe and race exhaust just before heading off on the September 2024 NC500 trip arranged by Peter [ref]B21[/ref], Unfortunately they were a bit too loud for long distance driving and so I sold them on to a forum member and replaced with the original set up .

I then replaced the foot pedals with a set from Pedalhaus which are really grippy and I also like the look .

Next up was new wheels and changing over to wheelstuds . I went with a pre order promotion on Apex ML10 RT and imported them direct from USA in Gold Motorsport colour . They look better in the flesh than the colour in the photos .
This is the order I placed showing sizes .

2 ML10RT1810ET25-5120-7256-D-MLGMG
Apex ML-10RT 18x10" ET25 Wheel - 5x120mm / 72.56mm - Gloss Motorsport Gold - Machined Lip
2 ML10RT1885ET40-5120-7256-D-MLGMG
Apex ML-10RT 18x8.5" ET40 Wheel - 5x120mm / 72.56mm - Gloss Motorsport Gold - Machined Lip
1 HW-APX-SPCRV2-5120-7256-12-S
Apex Wheel Spacers 12mm - 5x120mm / 72.56mm - (Pair) - Silver
1 HW-APX-STDKIT-5-M1215-75-BL-S
APEX 75mm M12 BMW 5 Lug Bullet Nose Stud Kit -Silver

I had to go with 8.5 fronts rather than 9`s as I had to fit a 12mm spacer to clear the front big brake kit .

Your car looks to be sitting really well on those wheels.

I hope you enjoyed the NC500 trip. I'm gutted I couldn't go because I had already bought tickets for a concert on the Saturday night.

It was excellent . Will see you on the Scottish Highlands and Deeside 1st - 5th September

Relieved to see the exhaust changed..my tinnitus has barely recovered… :tumbleweed:

Look forward to seeing all you guys in September if not at Zed Fest

Not sure those wheels are for me. But I have always enjoyed reading about this car. Great to see it continuing to live and grow. Enjoy the journey. :driving:

I decided to change the dials from black to yellow to fit in with the yellow stripe and the OMP logo on the steering wheel. I also painted the silver dial surrounds black .

Removed the soft coat paint from the Satnav surround as it was very scratched . This took about 4 hours from start to finish including removing and reinstalling Satnav .

Bought front and rear H&R anti roll bars , Roadnutz adjustable front droplinks and AKG rear droplinks . The rear droplinks were a pain as they were too long even though they are supposed to be a correct fit for the Z4M on Hack Engineering site . My friendly local garage ended up shortening them to get them to fit correctly . Another forum member did get his to fit using the AKG droplinks by removing the bottom shock bolt but I was a bit concerned about putting a preload on the bar . I`m sure it would be fine and he says he`s driven his without any issues so it`s just me over complicating things . Pleased with the result as the car feels more planted to the road .20250128_100020.jpg20250128_103402.jpg20250502_120426.jpg20250502_120508.jpg20250529_141915.jpg

I certainly love them :) Its off the road for winter and probably all of 2026 :( I cant afford to keep both the Z4`s on the road at the same time so will be using the 3.0 si for a year . Another reason is I am going to be driving through France to meet up with some others in Spain for a 2 week tour in June so the M would cost a fortune in fuel !! Great to see your video of you out on track in your monster . It sounds epic

I'm glad I got to see your MC on B21s Sottish trip last September in that case, although it definitely has a drink problem - it made mine seem positively frugal.

Looking on the bright side at least you will still be in an E86, and the 3.0Si will have more boot space for your Euro trip which sounds like it will be great!

Yes Iain its nearly as thirsty as us in the pub after a long days driving :) Will be good to get back in the 3.0si again but need to sort the exhaust out on that first as it is almost as loud as the M was when the Supersprints were fitted .

Good luck with that Tony, you don't want too much volume for a trip like that as you might miss Karen's directions!
