Been meaning to pop this up as I’m genuinely interested- who else out there Parkruns?

@Zedebee @markplant i already know are committed (or addicted)

It’s been a godsend for me discovering parkrun and the impact on my health, wellbeing and generally setting up the weekend has been brilliant. Converting others in the household and family likewise has been fun and makes it enjoyable

- where are your favourite places to run?
- anyone chasing a PB?

Stuart

Keep it going Stuart. Running for pleasure at a sensible pace will stand you in good stead as the years stack up. When I had my ‘attention seeking episode’ the cardiologist told Angela that my basic level of fitness was a main factor in my survival and recovery. It is an activity I really miss.👍

I watch our local parkrun every Saturday from the safety of my house

It’s become part of my life, that’s for sure. I do it with the missus mostly these days, and with the kids when they were at home. Now they’ve all grown up to be active, sporty people. There isn’t a holiday or a weekend away without a park run somewhere. Shame there’s no parkrun in France or Spain.

Favourite so far - has to be Fountains Abbey in Yorkshire, wonderful setting and free entry for park runners :)

Agree that fountains is a pretty one!

I find Parkruns fun and and addictive and have completed 63 mainly at my local Parkruns, Tamworth Castle Grounds and Ashbourne Recreation Ground. Keswick is my favourite Parkrun but not run for 5 weeks due to a swollen knee caused by running!

I've done a few, more into cycling than running again now, but really like the atmosphere at Parkruns. Good way to start the weekend as you say, and I like finding new ones when I'm staying away from home.

I’ll probably take Z#6 to Basingstoke in the morning. Eastlands seems to be the nearest car park.

Had to lookup what a parkrun is and, to my surprise, there are couple in the Helsinki area. As a beginner it might be a good place to start 👍🏻

Puolarmaari looks the nicer of the two, but I can’t imagine what it’s like at this time of year 🥶
