Replacement door membranes - how to?

Does anyone have a “how to” for replacing the door membranes, particularly the technique for sticking them in place and what to stick them with?

I have removed the old membranes and all the old butyl sealant, so the surfaces are clean. NewTIS suggests using butyl rope again, but this seems horrible to work with. Has anybody done it?

Tec7 sealant using a sealant gun

Thick bead around the perimeter and anywhere else you feel you need it to stick (e.g. where the cables run

I swear by Tec7 it’s amazing

Thanks Stuart. Do you mean apply the bead to the door all the way round, then stick the membrane to it; or the other way around?

Stuart sold this stuff to me as 'would seal a black hole if you got close enough!'
Brilliant stuff.
I apply it to the door then stick the membrane to it.

I tried using the butyl tape, but it's rubbish. Doesn't stay stuck properly along the bottom edge where the water always leaks in.

Onto the door as you can follow the line of the old sealant then press the membrane on

I then run a bead at the bottom just to be 100%
