Top Speed Graph?

has anyone done a speed run with the Z4 35i E89, I did one on the autobahn but I’m unsure if mine has a limiter but either way it seemed to really lose momentum past 130mph, still gaining but significantly slower then 0-130, this seems low considering it’s a 300bhp car, well 360 now as it has mhd stage 1

If you have done a speed run please attach a photo of the speed graph so I can see if it’s similar to mine

For reference it was 0-130 in approx 20s, so I feel 130-150 in 35 is slow or is this about right, if so what is the top speed without a limiter?

It's probably about right.

You really need 500+bhp to romp past 150mph. My C63 with 520hp on the dyno accelerated pretty hard up to 170mph. It was still picking up at 183mph on the GPS, but that was enough.

A stock 35i should hit around 160-165mph if it was derestricted ..it does have a 155mph limiter

Given that given drag goes up with the square of the speed it’s going to take some distance to get from say 130mpg to 155mph..

A 35is is around 167 mph ish

The issue is gearing vs the shape of the power curve..

Unlike most NA cars the N54 runs out of off puff well before the red line..especially when remapped on stock turbos..

So you may have the power but not the correct gearing to exploit the extra power..

Did you have a before and after dyno run?

No before, but I did the flash myself with MHD, so I can always put back to stock and try again and see how it does, MHD is meant to remove the limiter but I was just wondering if anyone else had done a run to see if mine is normal

Sadly maxing mine out in the Scottish Borders is not that easy..even with some chassis mods..

You're inlets could be coked up if its hasn't been walnut blasted..

I did my dyno runs after I had that done..35is stock vs 35is stage 1+.JPG

Do you have a dyno from before the blasting or do you know anyone who has a before and after
No...for most people they can't / won't use a dyno anyway..the general advice is to get the house in order before the dyno..fresh filters, fresh oil, fresh plugs, fresh coils and decoke..98 RON fuel
