M market watch

Hi there

I’m looking to buy a low mileage midnight blue or black Z4M Coupe in the UK if anyone is considering selling?

I’ve seen this interlagos blue coupe which I think has been up for sale now for 18 months. It’s not my ideal colour but is obviously a good one, but over priced to my mind as it’s not super low mileage or low owners. Has anyone on here seen the car or know why it’s not sold?

Many thanks
I just had a look and IMHO it hasn't sold because it is way too dear. The silver one I posted a link to has done a few thousand more miles, but it's about £10K cheaper!

As much as I prefer Interlagos to silver it isn't that much better, and they both have black interiors which I try to avoid.

Nice car, sounds ready to roll.

My advice is buy on the colour you want and condition at this point with these cars, especially if your planning on keeping.

Genuine CSL wheels and genuine Z4 strut brace must be around 5k now 2nd hand.

Buying cheap could cost you more long term.

If your buying for a summer's blast though, clearly that won't stack up:thumbsup:

I would say it is over priced for what it is too, as been said here go for a colour that you want, don’t make do…you will need to be a bit patient for the right car for you - if you bought this one and one came up in the colour etc you really want you would lose quite a few £k’s swapping out.

I bet the dealer has about £10k mark up on that one. Crazy price. I wonder what the wbac trade in would be. Half the ask I expect.

On that ILB car at £29000 I agree with Mr Tidy that it’s over priced. My car is very similar but with a better interior colour and 5000 less miles. I would not realistically expect to gain more than low to mid £20ks for mine. I am also suspicious of cars that are ostensibly mint and high money that require welding and new pipes etc. I would expect at that price, a car that has tried to avoid rain and humidity not one that is rotting aaay underneath

It’s been stored inside at Heroes for the past 10 years after being rust treated by them in 2015. It’s clean underneath apparently.

The owner has spent a lot more than the car is advertised for in bills and storage costs alone over that period. Service history is what you’d hope for, he hasn’t been shy on maintenance.

I’m going to have a look on Friday and will see if I like the colour. I veer between love the colour and it’s ok. If I like it I’ll haggle and happy to walk away if there’s no movement.

Really appreciate the comments and advice.

This one just appeared on Autotrader. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202511218059929?onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&radius=1500&postcode=gu470za&model=Z4 M&make=BMW&search-target=usedcars&sort=datedesc&saved-search-id=8a42a6fa76aed87301773672fd3f068d&logcode=pp&utm_medium=email&utm_source=alert

Price doesn't look too bad for low mileage from a trader, but it's a slightly unimaginative colour choice and apart from Sat Nav it looks really basic. No heated seats, upgraded stereo or even rear PDC!
Nothing wrong with Flimper spec 😬

No such thing as overpriced for me as the cars get on, the good minty ones will always fetch a premium that the right people will pay for. If I was buying again now I'd go at the top end too...

Yes I did too (go for the top end) as they are becoming increasingly rare in low mileage form. Yes I know mileage isn’t everything but it is for resale…. Even mine is climbing up through the miles as I take it to Spain. I would have preferred a car that wasn’t blue but to tell truth I haven’t seen enough of them in the flesh to say “that’s the colour”. For instance the white “feels” terrible but it might actually look fabulous - just never seen one for real. Silver grey is nice - sometimes - but sometimes really boring!

With only 592 coming to the UK and all of them being at least 17 years old now low milers are only going to become rarer, so I suppose more desirable, albeit to a fairly small audience. I was "budget limited" when I bought mine but didn't think 76K miles was excessive, although 6 years later it's on 99K now!

I agree Silver Grey can look boring, that's why I was glad mine had Imola leather. In an ideal world I'd have one in Imola Red with Champagne or Light Sepang with fewer miles. :D

Did they do a darker grey like Space Grey? - that would be nice with Imola or Amerone. My Syrah Blue is nice but it looks black a lot of the time in the U.K. lol. I am the only car with an upholstery coloured dashboard - not counting carbon leather as that’s an option. I think I might be

Yes @CliveN but only 3 space grey Ms came into the uk…
Plus it looks like there were only 5 S4MMA leather dash M cars that came in that were not bi colour leather seats, so therefore had a dash like yours with the coloured leather being central and black edges.
As opposed to bi colour seats and matching dash with just the edges coloured.

A ruby black and champagne roadster. LD39703. Presumably champagne dash trim?
As above but coupe. LF78077
Another ruby coupe but with Amarone! LF78179
Black sapphire and champagne coupe LF78529
Plus yours interLagos and Syrah coupe. LF…. 👍🏻

Edit. Here is a picture of Champagne dash trim (S4MMA) after a quick google albeit a 2.0 zed..

I wonder if anyone on here has one of the above other 4 Ms. I would love to see the Amarone dash. Only 8 in the world.

Was there really only 592 Z4Ms in total in the UK? I thought it was more than that for some reason, wonder how many are left!

Did you manage to see it? What did you think of it?

Unlike the stats for the 3.0Si, which make people think they are rarer than they are, the stats for Z4Ms on Howmanyleft.com are more reliable. According to the website there were 1162 (roadster and coupe combined) registered during the manufacturing years and another 8 later, presumably imports. Of these, 1019 were still registered in Q2 2025, 655 active and 364 SORN. Perhaps unsurprisingly, in the winter months, more than half of all Z4Ms are SORN.
