Somewhat dated figures, but the latest I could find show that 65% of the Z4s sold in the US in 2024 had manual transmissions, with 2,129 sold in total. So at least it's the majority of a niche?A year on since the manual shipped in thr UK
31 manuals registered till end 2Q 2025..down from 34 in 1Q 2025
In the same period as manual M40i became available, 292 M40i auto sold
So about 10% of G29 M40 folks went manual..
I see in Germany on the Z4 site not many folks there have one (4) so far..
Wonder what the US sales are like?
Statistics ..
I can see from the amount of US based coverage that they are having a much more intense love affair with the manual..not reflected here I think..Somewhat dated figures, but the latest I could find show that 65% of the Z4s sold in the US in 2024 had manual transmissions, with 2,129 sold in total. Thanks for sharing, so they did pull a Final Edition out of the hat afterall, although clearly just for the US market.
On the German press BMW homepage you can read it too:Thanks for sharing, so they did pull a Final Edition out of the hat afterall, although clearly just for the US market.
Given I’m in UK market, a moot point for me, but I’d be glad I hadn’t waited on the FE as pretty understated black on black.

Knowing what it will do is enough. Occasionally give it a blast but only when the wife is not in the carIt’s interesting this focus on performance. I am seeing less and less people interested in that. I can’t remember the last time I saw a Porsche or Ferrari driving fast. The only people who seem interested in how fast their car accelerates is the Ford Focus and Fiat 500 crew lol
Only those with excellent taste select the cognac seatsI absolutely prefer mine with the cognac seats, over matt black paint and black with red piping seats. You can now get the 19"/20" staggered set up now on all final edition models.
I think that because all the final edition are mainly for the us market.I absolutely prefer mine with the cognac seats, over matt black paint and black with red piping seats. You can now get the 19"/20" staggered set up now on all final edition models.

According to the BMW GB club magazine this month this will be available to order in the Uk. A small ordering window will open at the end of January 2026. 2.0 and m40 models available as well a range of colours at no cost, however the expectation is that frozen black will be popular as its unique to the final run. Final addition trim added approximately £3,670 to the Uk pricing of both models. Both gearboxes available as well. Thanks for sharing, so they did pull a Final Edition out of the hat afterall, although clearly just for the US market.
