so for anyone else looking for the following i have done you work for you

mps5
225 45 18
255 40 18

camskills much cheaper than oponeo and tyreleader at a snip under 640 landed. oponeo 744 and tyreleader 780 although not sure if thats the fitted or supply only price
i have my own fitting arranged

Camskill are consistently cheaper on all my tyres I’ve bought over the last few years..and that’s a lot of tyres…9-10 sets

I was a little annoyed that the DOT codes on the tyres I ordered from Camskil were 2022 when delivered last week

My tyres never last more than 3 years so that’s not an issue for me..

Out of interest what make/ model/size of tyre was that?

ok thats v good to know as i like tyreleader for how fresh their stock is
retailers are legally allowed i think to retail tyres that are 3 years old rather annoyingly

I just recently purchased MPS5 from camskill too, they were the cheapest.
I phoned to ask them what the dates might be. They said that it doesn’t matter and they can be up to five years old and Michelin will warranty up to 10yrs.
Mine came through dated 11/25 for one axle/size and 20/25 for the other.

I just wasnt particulary happy given that the car will only do about 1500 miles a year so will most likely be changed on age in future and not wear. The only saving grace was they were very cheap. Interestingly when I called them they said they only make £5 a tyre and have no way of knowing what the date codes will be. Found Costco to be a really difficult as you have to put your loaction in first and then it will only allow to choose from available local stock.

I think Costco's website checks UK stock, not just local warehouses. If it's out of stock I call my local branch or pop by, as they can tell me exactly when stock is due back in. Costco must turn around tyre stock quickly as I've bought 10+ sets over the years and they've always been less than six months old by DOT code.

PS hello RC1!

Yeah I would be miffed too if three years old despite what I was told. You’ll just have to burn through them quickly!

So the tyres sat in storage somewhere shortly after they were launched in the UK in 2022?
