Wow, what a difference in approach.

I had a minor issue with some trim on the M4 and the dealer told me to take it to Redish, a little to far to go so said I would try Forza in Caldicot, turned up (no appointment) as I just need a 5 minute check and estimate for the job.

Got told straight away no one was available, asked if someone could just take a 5 minute look, receptionist went off and said in about 30 mins, said no thanks and went on my way (travelling home from work).

Went to Auto Tech in Caerleon, they immediately showed my a trim piece that was on the side, they had just changed one a few month back, so they knew exactly what was needed, they spent 20 minutes looking at the car, on the computer to check etc, contacted BMW to check the fitting kit and provide a very quick estimate.

Also told me nothing was going to happen with the trim piece - ie it was not going to cause water in the car.

Auto tech may not be a fancy as Forza but they showed showed more interest and willingness to help than Forza - I know Forza were probably busy but I was disappointed as I had heard some really great things about them.

Hi Colin @colb , I was pointed your way in my intro. Have had my E86 for just over a week now (my first Z4/BMW), letting go of my wonderful MR2 Roadster for this. I'm not a spanner spinner but may attempt minor non-mechanical jobs so forums such as this are always useful. The main thing I would be interested in is to join your whatsapp group to learn of any events you may plan in the future. After all, the main reason to own these cars is to drive out, especially on our roads here in Wales!
