Brembo brake pads on 2012 Z4 SD35IS

Hello all. I had the local auto parts store read the codes on my 2012 Z4 35IS in my continuing saga of trying to eliminate the SOS Failure Warning. The report showed no codes but the system reported that the front brakes were at 19%. The car has the sport package with the Brembo brakes and drilled rotors. When I look up the brake pads for the car, it seems to only show the pads for the standard brakes. Short of removing the pads and looking for a part number on the pads, how can I find the correct pads. I have all the tools to do the work myself, but I want to make sure I have the parts on hand before I start taking anything apart. I'll post photos when I get home, but I believe that they are the factory sport model upgrade. I bought it from the second owner and he didn't really know much about the car's history besides it was traded into a BMW dealership where he bought it. I don't think he did any mods during his ownership. Car appears to be bone stock.

AFAIK the e89 never had a sports brake upgrade..the 35is had a larger single sliding caliper and larger discs 348mm..

Textar was the OE supplier of brake pads for the E89..

A picture of the caliper would give us a clue..
 
I'll post it when I get home. They are definitely red powder coated Brembo with two pistons... This car is going to drive me to drink.

Well that’s definitely NOT any kind of brake that was ever fitted to E89s or ever even remotely close to a bmw based offering..

Ah. I read it as meaning two visible pistons, therefore 4-pots

(Usually fitted with the 'bleed screws' facing downwards :rofl: )
 
4 pot. See attached. Pads look better than 19% remaining though although I can see the back side pad.

Yup some after market job…probably someone else’s Brembo caliper with an adapter bracket..

You’ll need to pull the pads and measure the disc diameter and thickness to deduce what /where it came from..
 
The pad remaining calculator was based on the oe caliper pads…maybe it wasn’t reset when whoever fitted the aftermarket calipers..
