Post issues with the new forum here

I clicked on the URL, which takes me to the first page. Will try the time (didn't see that as a URL).

The web version works great, the app version is still too many clicks compared to before.

It is however good that I don't browse the forum anymore after work hours :LOL:

Is it though?

The z4-forum title takes you to the last 10 threads.

The lightning bolt takes you to the latest threads list.

As I said, you have the option to go to the first post or the latest post.

Where are these extra clicks happening? It’d be good to understand it as I’m finding it works pretty well.

Once you have read the first new post you are interested in (I only use the "New Posts" function), then you don't have visibility anymore on the button to press "New Posts" again like you used to be able. Now you have to go back to the top menu left and drop down to get to "New Posts" again, and you have to do that after each post you have read.

Ok, but "new posts" on the previous forum was (I think) equivalent to "whats new" (latest activity) on this forum. This page is linked by the lightning bolt icon on the top right.

Not sure if I'm doing it wrong, but the privacy setting of ticking a box so it doesn't show if you're online or not doesn't seem to work? Either ticked or unticked, it still shows me as being online?

As far as I know, if you select that option you will still see your own name but others won't (apart from admins and mods). Not tested it, but as far as I know that's how it works

Tbh it was originally just to keep costs down and encourage images to be shared in public rather than private.

More recently laws have changed such that forum owners are more responsible for the content of their platform. We can obviously moderate the public aspect but I don’t access peoples private messages so that makes them impossible to moderate. Obviously dodgy stuff can be posted anyway but having attachments off makes life a bit easier.

I have considered making attachments in DM’s part of the site supporter permissions, as the biggest “risk” is from new posters, and they are pretty unlikely to be a donator.

Anyone else having problems with notifications not coming from watched threads? Some of them do come however, but mostly from one thread only. All others like there is no new posts in there.
