Auto Gearbox Oil Change 3.0si Guidance

Hello.

Very much an amateur here regarding gearbox oil changes. I have a 3.0si, with 132K. Now saw some posts already that explain how to do it, which I will follow (any links or photos sadly are no longer available to see), alongside a season mechanic - don't want to destroy the car.

What I am curious about is the following; I found the appropriate oil:

But what I am curious is the other stuff that is in it. For example, in the link above:
  • 1 x Sump Pan Filter (plastic - og is metal)
  • 7 Litres of Lifeguard 6 (the oil needs to be 10 if done proper yes?)
  • 1 x Set of Screws (screws to fix on the gearbox)
  • 1 x Sleeve (?)
  • 1 x Valve Body Adapter (?)
  • 1 x Set of Valve Body Tubes (?)
Ok, as far as the filter is concerned I want to keep the original (metal). I will deep clean properly (check and clean the magnets).
But I am not sure what the rest are. They are plastic from the website, and I am wondering if the originals are metal, or not really having to replace. Is the sleeve another way to say gasket? I am just trying to understand better what is needed.

Because I am just contemplating to get the oil from above, and a gasket from BMW to confirm that it is a fit. Not sure what the rest of the equipment is for.

Thank you kindly for any input and your support.

Nominally you can only replace part of the fluid as a load stays in the torque converter. I've done GM box fluid changes in the past and they say the same but as I've always taken the valve body out I've ended up needing far nearer the full fill capacity of the box.

The filter is integrated to the pan so the whole thing is replaced.

The sleeve is fitted (I believe) around the electrical connector and often leaks, hence getting replaced.

The valve tubes will have integrated O-rings which will have flattened with time and heat so will want replacing. Dunno what the valve body adaptor is but presume it's another recommended replacement.

Thank you so much for the response. So the pan has to change nonetheless?! I see, a bit sad about it not-gonna lie.

So some of the old oil will stay inside the system (only take it out if I remove the TC i guess?).

Thank you for the info.
