The previous owner of my car butchered the brake bulb holder of the cluster and my attempt to fix it worked only for a while. I have been forced to buy a new cluster, as the bulb holder is not sold separately...
Today I have fitted a brand new unit (OEM) and every light works apart from the LED sidelight (ie: the top part of the cluster). My car is a 2009 model but when I replaced the old cluster I could see that the previous owner had already replaced it at some point and had fitted the newer type of cluster, manufactured in 2017 (ie: two fitting nuts instead of three).
However, when I fitted the new cluster I bought from BMW, I noticed that every other light works apart from the LED side light (ie: the top part of the cluster). What could be the problem? Faulty cluster? Does it need coding? (I would not think so, as the LED indicator works fine).
I thought that the cluster was plug and play. The other side's cluster is working fine... Any help or advice would be much appreciated as without this light working, it fails a MOT.
