Hey I’ve started looking into an airbag issue I’m having. I tired clearing the code with INPA but it’s persistent here’s the output run through google translate

From what the previous owner told me it’s not the airbag as he tried swapping it with good one from another car so I’m thinking some kind of issue in the loom. I’d like to check the continuity from the B pillar module to the door then the resistance on the door connector to airbag but I’m struggling to find a pinout anyone able to help?

A simple thing to do is open and clean the door plug with contact cleaner

This issue is becoming more prevalent

It’s been “fixed” by doing this previously only for it to come back so I really just want to know for sure what’s happening.

Outing myself as the previous owner 😂

Not sure I cleaned the door plug earlier this year, just the ones on the airbag itself in the door & satellite module by the passenger seat. Thinking you mean the one joining the door loom to the body, in between the two door hinges @bigwinn?

That’s the one!

So good news I’ve managed to fix it!

I traced the airbag cable to the door plug to confirm the loom was good. It was then I took a closer look at the plug as suggested.

The airbag ones are the two that look visibly different I wonder if it’s just exposed copper if so no wonder it tends to tarnish. Anyway hit them with a bit of fine grit sandpaper then cleaned it all up with contact cleaner. I also inspected the b pilar module connector and hit that with some contact cleaner too although they looked in fairly good shape. I figured if that loom was bad it would be a bigger job and I’d come back to it.

So I put everything back together cleared the codes in INPA and all is well!

That said considering how the connector is I wonder if I’m gonna be back in at some point. This car is kept in a garage now so hopefully that helps a bit.
