Lifer!
 Diving out of the sun
It must be the bad influence of so many forum members over the last few years, but we’ve just replaced my wife’s aging Mercedes E Class coupe with a car from Stuttgart. I’ll post pics when we collect it, but it’s only covered 4500 miles so it’s immaculate outside and the interior is like new. The original owner “kept it at his holiday house and barely used it”.
For entertainment value, can anyone guess what it is with almost no clues at all? It complements my toy car collection very nicely…

No Cayman because of the kids. So I would say Macan.

As she can't drive very well, the Cayenne is too big :p

Taycan 4S. Plenty of sun to heat up those solar panels for charging, 4 doors, zero to sixty in 3.8 seconds, the kids will love it.

One of my neighbours has just got a 944, I would edge my bet on a 987 Boxster?

I wanted a 911, but it’s mostly for my wife to use, so that wasn’t an option.
BeeEmm was almost exactly right. It’s a Taycan 4S with Performance Battery Plus, so slightly quicker than standard - 570bhp in launch mode and c 8 seconds to 100mph.
We do have solar panels and the kids will love it😊
It’s an amazing car, I’m sold already. It’s not visceral - I love the sound, smell and vibrations of a real engine - but, as an alternate to modern FI 4 cylinder cars, it is full of character. It has throttle response to match the cable throttle butterfly of my Lotus.
This car adds zero cylinders to the current collection of NA inline-4, NA straight-6, twin turbo V6, and NA V8.

These are a couple of dealer pics:

A used Taycan? Must of cost around £75 (or the equivalent in kangaroo dollars).
THE fastest depreciating cars on the planet in 2024, so I hear. ;) :p

Sadly not in Australia where nothing is cheap and European cars carry an extra premium.
We could have bought a BYD Seal or Tesla Model 3 for pocket money as they seem to depreciate at a crazy rate.

Not gonna lie - that looks pretty sweet. A black taycan looks the business. (y)
I held no affection for EVs previously, but it looks fantastic in black with all the external trim in black too. The interior appears to be bright red in the pics, but it’s actually a deep, rich burgundy.

Not any more. All problems are being addressed by Porsche. The batteries are guaranteed for 100,000 miles or 8 years, and they should be fairly cheap by then. My Taycan has had a full check by Porsche and the warranty has been extended by 2 years. The battery SOH (state of Health) is 94% which is pretty good for a 4 year old car and each module in that battery is perfectly fine. The car looks like it just came out of the showroom, but with a ceramic coat and PPF. If I want to drive to Edinburgh (400miles for me) then I can, with three 17 minute stops to top up. Yes, only three 17 minute stops. Porsche is an easy target for those that want to believe that some bad stories apply to all cars. Not the case. So there!😜

Gosh only three stops... when you can buy cars that could go there AND back with no stops... 🤓 😉

Our sensible, family car is a 300hp / 700Nm twin turbo V6 diesel Jaguar F Pace S that will return 50mpg on the motorway. I can’t see it being used much from now though!
