E85 Hood Problems - Fixed by Number5...

T'is the season for making the most of your E85, which for me means getting some miles in with the roof down... only problem being that a month ago, I got the dreaded flashing red light coming on when operating the hood and a roof that would neither go up nor down :(

After some common sense checks, I realised that I needed the help of some specialist skills - after a quick search on the forum, it became apparent that @Number5 was the man for the job, especially when I realised he was only 30 minutes away.

I'm delighted to report my E85 is now back to it's former glory after a couple of hours with @Number5 - or Alan as he is also known as! It was a real honour to see somebody with such knowledge and skills in operation - the fault was diagnosed, fixed, the motor relocated to the boot and the drains cleared. His passion for all things Z4, attention to detail and relaxed disposition were a breath of fresh air and we had a great chat as he went about his work.

If you live in the West Country or Midlands (& possibly even further afield) and you have a problem with your E85 hood not functioning properly then look no further - @Number5 is the real deal.

Thanks again Alan ...

Lucky you living close (like me) roof always went up no problem but to open it had to be assisted.
Not any more thanks to Alan a professional roof fixer, and I have been left with a roof that's working perfectly. With the motor relocated to the boot and a bit of bubble wrap, wrapped around the motor to complete a perfect job.

Thanks for the glowing comments James !

It was a pleasure to meet you too and see your Zed.. A beautiful spec’d 3.0 model with factory fitted Alpina wheels and in immaculate condition. A real stunner.

Thanks also to Ron for his patience allowing me to replace his failed pump this afternoon. Another genuine Z4 enthusiast with another well cared for and fettled example.

Hi! @Number5 how can I contact you? For some reason I can’t PM you (new to the forum). Was wondering if you had any availability / quote for a roof motor repair? Im almost certain the problem w my roof is the hydraulic pump electric motor going.
