Rick Hunter, it's definitely growing on me, the side profile with the roof up looks great, and those 19" wheels make a big difference to the overall look.
I can't wait to see white and titanium silver.

As much negativity as I promote about this new iteration, I DO agree that it's a good looking car. The engineers have done a good job evolving the design. Interior updates, of course, more revolutionary.
If you are thinking about moving back to a Z4 though, I'd wait for another year so that you can compare it to the next gen SLK. It'll be interesting to see how the rivalry will progress.
___end threadjack.

No I won't be doing anything for another year or so, I want to see how BMW position the car in the UK before I take the plunge, already 10% discount is available so I want to see how the used car market goes.

Well... their current position is a little weaksauce, if they're already discounting the car before it's release.

Sun Reflective Technology. But I like the feel of warm leather on my skin.
I personally think the new Z4 will flop in this economy. The more I see it the more I want a 6 Series.

Wow!!! With the roof down, I can still fit my reflective vest in the center console!

BTW, what is up with that tiny speaker system in the middle??? Is the the Hi-Fi DSP version, or a 90's attempt at center staging of music?

Not the case. See the First Drive thread, E85/E89 comparison:Bit worrying the way they are taking he z away from sportiness!
Now the part surprising for me. The new Z4’s suspension has become clearly more comfortable and targets a different kind of driver. But the sportiness did not suffer from it. The corning speed is very high. The Z4 remains always neutral, no under-steers at all. Even the moment I entered a U turn a little too fast, the car never pushed the front axle in under steer. The steering element fits: Precise, beautiful feedback - in addition, less difficult to operate than the old one.
