Headlamp Condensation

Post by srhutch » Mon Jul 09, 2007 1:39 pm

My offside headlamp suffers from internal condensation which covers 100% of the lense.

I have just spoken to the dealer who is going to have a look next Monday. However they have stated that BMW wont replace as this is a natural effect of differing temperatures.

I dont accept this as I believe its b*ll*cks.

Does anybody else suffer with this problem?

Natural effect my bum!

The one I purchased from the US had some moisture within the lights, dealer replaced under warranty

I've seen this issue raised fairly often and It's usually resolved by a dealer visit

That is total BS. You are not supposed to get condensation in there. That could screw up your wiring too, I would think.

I had that problem on my 2003 and it was just a little condensation and the dealer replaced because they noticed it during the 15,000 mile service.

condensation is a pet peeve of mine! Not not NOT supposed to be there. That is complete and utter bullshit  . Do not accept that, find a dealer who will replace it...*shakes head*...unbelievable what some some stealers tell their valued customers :x

I had both mine replaced under warranty for same reason. They should replace yours as well.

My 06 was delivered with one headlight looking exactly like your pic. The Xenon failed 24hrs later. The seal was faulty on the back and the unit was replaced the same day.

I do wonder if they would have replaced the unit if the Xenon, hadnt failed.

Be careful, flyboyaj. Your headlamps might condensate.
