BMW Specialist within 10 mile radius of Windsor?

Post by Oakandacorns » Sat Jan 09, 2010 9:20 pm

Hi Z4 enthusiasts, does anyone know of a good specialist within about 10 miles of Windsor? Would like to know for the next service.

Thanks for your help.

My guys, Dicot Autos, are a little far out for you I guess... still a way from me to be honest, but they do good work!

biggsyZ4 (from Bracknell) uses Munich Motors in Maidenhead... if he doesn't pitch up here you may want to drop him a PM - I cannot testify as to whether they are any good.

There is a section in the forum for dealer feedback which may be worth a look.

The closest I can recommend personally is Phil Crouch of CPC, in Rickmansworth.

He used to work from the Birds garage in Uxbridge as there specialist (but contracted in) on ///Ms.

Thank you for the replies so far :)
Gannet - I know Ealing, it is a possibility, but possibly a little far - need somewhere a little more West of Ealing, Mind you, as long as the work is very good and service reliable with reasonable price, I would consider.
Pawnsacrifice - Didcot I think is too far away - Reading would be do-able for me. Thanks for the tip about biigsyz4, I've done a Google search for Munich Motors and Wokingham would be a reasonable distance for a service. Will try pm'img if no noise.
mmm-five - Rickmansworth is a little far, but appreciate the input.

Am sure the above will help others in the vicinity of the garages. I've done a search on the forum but couldn't find any other answers, though Munich Motors has had a thumbs-up from a member. Interesting to see a warning about a specialist in Berkshire and I've PM'd to ask for details.

Haven't tried it myself but Birds in Iver seems to come recommended http://www.birdsauto.com/

I use AutoTech in langley.

The guys have good Z knowledge (small things like checking the drain grommets which often get filled with junk which can cause watter to get into the roof motor) etc.

Had break fluid service, oil service, MOT and now getting a spring replaced with them. No problems so far.

Hi
I have not had my Z4 that long but had a couple of bits done at Munich Motors in Wokingham

Recptionist has her moments in terms of being a bit rude but the mechanic (Clive) seems to know what he is doing. I had a new LCM module done and an electrical fault repaired there. I don't think they are the cheapest - about £50 per hour labour

I have been recommended http://www.chrisplummerautomobiles.co.uk/

It's more like 20 miles for you, but I guess if you can't find anyone closer who is decent!

+1 for K&M Windsor, Dedworth Rd. Excellent service, been twice and twice they've rectified the issue on the same day. Can't fault them at all.

These guys in Iver are pretty fair and have very broad knowledge. They rescued my old TT from a couple of very expensive failures at an extremely reasonable price each time. I've been very happy to trust them with my M too.

Rags, Sepoy25 and BMWZ4MC - thanks for the posts above  .

My neighbour has also recommended K&M AutoTechnik :) . Rags and Sepoy25, in your opinion, were they reasonable in what they charged?

:) Reporting back to let you know this Specialist provides good service and charge reasonably. My neighbour had also recommended them. My Roadster went in for an Oil Service and Brake Fluid Change recently. They used to be based in Maidenhead and are now just down the road in Windsor, Dedworth Road.
