Alpina up for auction

Definitely having a hard time finding a long-term home, that one, for whatever reason. It got auctioned through Brightwells (June '23, I think), then Collecting Cars (August '23), then Mathewson's (July 24), then Hampsons (December '24, when it sold for £6,188 inc. fees), and now it's popped up at Anglia. Blimey...

Makes you wonder if it's not selling, or whether it's being bought then problems found and passed on immediately...and with auctions you don't get all the information up-front.

Nice looking car.
Probably motorway miles too.
Plenty of life left in it yet.
I think if it was £5-6K it would be more appealing.

The owner is a forum member and I think it was offered up for sale here. viewtopic.php?p=2084224&hilit=Alpina#p2084224

I believe he finally sold it No Reserve at Hampson (For £5500 plus fees) last November, so it'll be the new owner putting it through Anglia if so.

Given how many auctions it has been through I can't help thinking it may have some underlying issues. :(

The car has been untaxed since November and the log book hasn't been reissued since March 2021.

It's either been in the trade, or not changed hands.

Putting it through the auction with less than 3 weeks MOT isn't a good sign.

I called Anglia, asking if it was entered by a private individual or trade, and the lad answering said he believed trade. He didn't sound 100% confident though and he didn't go away and look at the file.
