Windscreen washer jets

Post by Deddi » Sun Dec 08, 2019 10:47 am

Anyone tell me how do I adjust these, water spray is too low. I've only ever seen little round things before that I adjusted with a pin. Mine are like this.
Thanks

You may find they are slightly blocked, try blowing down them and see if it improves, if not get a new set.

Resurrecting this thread, just to show that I have at least done a search!

My washer jets seem to have gone very feeble, still hitting the screen but more a dribble than a jet.

I'll try the suggested ideas above, but anyone got any other ideas??

The only times I've had that problem it was due to crud in the reservoir blocking the filter on the pump so I'd start there.

The pumps are a push fit so they just pull out of the reservoir. I found an old toothbrush worked a treat to clean the filter.
Coupes because stunning!

Talking of new jets, does anyone know of a source other than direct from BMW? Are they unique to the E89?

Are there any pictures or diagrams that show where the filter is? I had a quick look yesterday but couldn't see anything obvious and I was reticent about pulling things apart!

you will need to take out the tank , the pump and filter unclip , then take apart and clean

As above, I had the exact same issue. I took the wiper fluid tank thing out, it's a few nuts. and there was loads of black shite clogged up at the bottom I just took the filter out and gave that a wash. Was a little black thing if I remember correctly. Works perfect now.

I am the least mechanically minded person ever so I can assure you it's very simple - I can do it!

I have the same problem with my widscreen jets not working but my headlight jets are ok. Are there seperate filters for windscreen and headlights? Also, I detached the water pipe leadding to windscreen but no water comes out of the detached pipe.
Thank you.
