Winter Boots

Mine aren't on yet, but I also heard cold weather's coming for early December, so probably going on next weekend.

Having typed that, I then woke up to freezing fog on Sunday morning, had to go out quite early, and slid all over the place on my summer slicks. Put my new winter tyres (Kumho KW27s as recommended by a11y) on as soon as I got home. They'll benefit from a couple of hundred miles of breaking in before the proper cold stuff comes anyway.

Fitted ..............

Ah good choice for the money! I found the Kuhmo's good enough last winter, just be prepared for the DSC light to be flashign a bit more when it's warmer :D

Thanks a11y. Can I just check, do you run your winters on the same pressures as your summer tyres (2.3 bar front, 2.6 bar rear), or do you have all 4 the same given that they're not staggered sizes?

I really need to save up for these as my current rfts are sending me sideways with too much ease in this weather already (admittedly somewhat on purpose! :driving: )
Really cant afford them tho as this month is Kelz's birthday, House move and Christmas!

I can't honestly remember where I got the pressures from, and couldn't say for sure if I had the same front and rear. I'll need to find out for myself again before I fit them.

Guessing there might be some info in the manual for the folk that have the pram wheels (16's) fitted as standard. At least I hope there is...

LOL, always seems to be very hit and miss with tyre pressures.... I'm about to fit the 17's with wintracks to my car and have no idea what pressures to use.

Yeah, I know, it's usually guesswork with me too. To be honest, I've no idea how much difference a few tenths of a bar makes in real terms. Inside my driver's door, it suggests pressures of 2.3F and 2.6R for 225/50/16 M+S tyres (which I think means Mud and Snow, ie winters). But I'm guessing they're referring to RFTs that they so sweetly assume we're all using. Anyone know whether similarly-sized RFTs and non-RFTs should be the same pressures?
