I drove over rubber stoppers at 45kph

Post by imperialderm » Sat Jul 05, 2025 4:17 pm

Hi! Recently drove thru several runner stoppers in Manila. This happened while i was tryinh to overtake a slow car in front. I didnt see the reflectors on the rubber stoppers, hence i drove thru them for a few seconds until i was able to recover. I stopped and checked if there are visible damages to the bumpers and tires but couldnt see any. Drove the car again and felt nothing wrong. But my OCD is kicking in and i feel like ive done my car wrong. Is there a practical way to know if the cover under the car or suspension might have some damage caused by the stoppers? For reference the stoppers are approx 3 inches tall.

I feel your pain.
Reality is that only a full inspection under a ramp can see if any suspension parts are bent, but you would probably feel it.

Odds are you got away with it though.

Best way would be putting it in the ramp and inspect.
If there's any broken plastic trim, that would be the splash guards underneath the front bumper.

By the way, nice to see someone from Manila
Im originally from Alabang

Does the G29 have the small splashguards behind the front wheels? If they are still on there, it is at least a positive sign.

What you describe there is a regular event in the UK with the potholes in the road
