AUX DIY

Post by MisterM52 » Wed Jun 25, 2025 1:42 pm

So Just FYI.

I decided to buy some ready made parts, from Amazon.

Bought myself this AUX Converter, seems to be beefy, and has a cap already inside. so must be a good one. has good reviews. And just incase there is some ground loop noise etc, I bought myself also this Ground Loop Suppressor.

1. Keenso Car AUX Adapter Cable, Car Radio Female AUX Adapter Cable for E85 / E86 2003-2008, E83 2004-2010

2. FeinTech ATG00101 Audio Ground Loop Isolator Filter Suppressor Noise 3.5 mm Jack Stereo Cable, Black

Total Costs were under 25 Euros. Will make my own topic once I am done and report if it works!

Also found this fellows video quite informative. Condenses it all into one.

Is AUX required? I ask as it's sub-par audio quality and a pain to use. If you can, use Bluetooth BlueMusic module which is plug and play (I think the AUX ones are too).

That black connector comes out the white connector and you replace it with the new 'dongle'

Thanks Sam! So I went ahead, canceled my order with the AUX, and ordered the BlueMusic Module, cost me around 45 Euros. I was originally going to connect the AUX port coming from my android auto setup and hardwire it, but you got me convinced.. :D

This is what I ordered
BlueMusic Bluetooth Hands-Free Music Adapter Compatible with BMW E39 E46 E53 X5 Z4 E83 X3 - Mini R50 R52 R53 with Boost CD/Navigation Radio Flat Pin 40pin Quadlock New Generation Radio

https://www.amazon.de/-/en/BlueMusic-Bl ... ible-black

Has some 1116 Reviews and a 4.4 Start Rating on amazon, so lets see! Also plus point, it gives me the ability to use a mic!

Nice work!

Should be an easy install as you've been back there before...

Hey Sam, So I received Bluetooth adapter Blue Music, I plugged it in, I did remove the white connector and swapped it to the new adapter.

I dont see the AUX being activated, no aux option, only CD and Radio. So I am able to connect to the bluetooth itself but there is no music playing.

It seems I did have some kind of a CD Changer or such in the back of the car, it had a navigation gps thing as well of course, all of those obsolete tech was removed by the last owner. I am wondering, what are my options? I did some reading up and some one in this forum was saying that they had the same issue and the owner told them to exchange it for a different adapter that plugs in where the CD is.

Any tips appreciated.

From memory AUX was for the old 3.5mm AUX cables, the new BT ones work as a CD changer. Have you tried it on any of the CD modes?

The link you posted doesn't work, just a amazon "cant find" message in German. Are you sure it's for your model of stereo, what model do you have? Also, some are designed for DSP, most cars don't have that.

Perhaps post up your stereo spec and try the link again, someone might be able to figure out if it's the wrong product.

I used mine today; I promise it's worth the wait!
