Please consider adding a "General Z4 Chat" section

Post by eBrooker » Mon Jun 23, 2025 5:44 pm

I might be going blind but I can't see one - think it could be a good section for all Z4 owners to take part in more general discussions.

Example threads:

- Did you do any advanced driving courses to prepare yourself for a Z4/RWD car?
- I have a budget of £XXXXX - seen any good Z4's in that price range?
- What do you love/hate about your Z4?

etc

'The Lounge' covers all that, if you wanted it to.
From experience, it doesn't really matter where you 'put' threads, they will be read by most. I am sure most regulars click on 'new posts' when they log in, so everything is visible. :?
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

2024 Audi A4 avant 40 black edition petrol
2025 Ford Focus ST 'track pack'. Go-kart with sat nav.
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half.
No Z4 anymore!

Close, but once I've cleared everything I then just click on 'Unread posts' every time.

OK; different route to the same thing IMO. But it doesn't matter which 'section' the threads are in, does it? You can see them all.

For someone who has only posted 49 times and has been on here for over 5 years you’ve become a bit demanding all of a sudden

I’d rather a button that takes me straight to the daily pond; so I can get my daily dose of pondrew content

I'm guessing a sleeper troll. Creates account, lets it lie dormant, then years later creates topics they hope will become divisive.
Abstinence is fine, in moderation.

Does this make Pondy a wide awake and extremely effective troll.

How is asking the admin to consider a suggestion, 'demanding'?

Or maybe this is more about me politely declining your offer to buy your 2006 zed with over 80k miles for £8k...

I use 'new posts' as my landing page as a preview for what's going on day to day when (and I know its been a while of late) I logon to catch up. If I want information I use the search bar.

My guess is that non members or infrequent users go from home page to a specific section - its just a way to keep the site tidy more than search it. Reading about what could go wrong (has done for someone else) in a specific section is like googling medical symptoms and then realising how ill you are.
